This course is designed for young people aged 16-18 or up to 24 with an EHCP, who have Special Educational Needs.
Learners may include those with behaviour, emotional and social difficulties (BESD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mild or moderate learning difficulties (MLD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).
They are typically working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1 and want to improve their study skills and develop stronger social integration within a mainstream environment.

Teaching is tailored to individual EHCP outcomes and learners’ personal goals.
You will be assessed through OCN Level 1 qualification requirements, using portfolio work, practical tasks and personalised progression goals.
Learners are supported to develop key study behaviours such as meeting deadlines, managing time effectively, responding to feedback and adapting to a faster-paced mainstream-style environment.
Your progress is continually reviewed against their EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets.
You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 2 (E) or above.
As part of the application process you will also be asked to explain why you want to study this course, so that we can ensure any course offer made aligns to your career goals.
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress into mainstream vocational study, Year 2 of the Vocational Pathways programme, supported internships or employability-focused courses depending on their readiness, confidence and skill development.
