This course is designed for young people aged 16-18 or up to 24 with an EHCP, who have Special Educational Needs.
Learners may include those with behaviour, emotional and social difficulties (BESD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mild or moderate learning difficulties (MLD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).
They are typically working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1 and want to develop their study, employability and personal social skills.

Teaching is tailored to individual EHCP outcomes and learners’ personal goals.
You will be assessed through OCN entry‑level vocational qualification requirements.
You are assessed through practical tasks, portfolio work and personalised targets that support your development in communication, numeracy, employability and personal independence.
All assessments are aligned with each learner’s EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
You will need to be aged 16-18 or up to 24 with an EHCP and have identified Special Educational Needs and/or a learning difficulty.
You must be working towards Entry Level 2 and all applicants complete an assessment or interview to ensure the course is the most appropriate fit for your needs and goals.
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress into Learning for Life (Year 2), Skills for Progression pathways, vocational or employability programmes, supported internships or other SEND‑specific routes depending on individual progression.
The course helps you build foundational study and employability skills needed for future development.
