This is a full-time 4-day-a-week personal development course, preparing you for adult status and all the skills and understanding that is required.
You may have special educational needs and disabilities such as behaviour emotional and social difficulties (BESD) Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mild learning difficulties (MLD) and moderate learning difficulties (MLD) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and opposition defiant disorder (ODD) and are working at or towards on Entry 2 and want to improve your study/employability skills and personal social skills
This course focuses on the transition to adulthood including Independent Living and Employability Pathways with opportunities leading into paid or otherwise and links to the Preparing for Adulthood outcomes.
This course combines employability, personal and social and learning skills to give learners an opportunity to develop the skills needed to progress to employment, independent living, further learning or a combination of these.
This is an OCN entry to vocational studies. You will be able to explore different vocational sessions to help you choose what you want to progress onto, as well develop holistically with core subjects focusing on:
- Communication
- Numeracy
- Personal, social and health education (PSHE)
- Independence
- In-House Work Experience
- Enterprise Projects
- Enrichment
Your Individual Learning Plan will be designed to meet your needs and develop the skills that will help you make progress towards your future goals.
You do not need any official qualifications for this course, however, you will need to demonstrate a passion for the subject and commitment to learning.
Please note that all applicants go through an assessment/interview process to ensure that they are offered the course that is best suited to them.
On completion of this course, learners will feel more confident with the transition to adulthood including Independent Living and getting a job.
