English
Standard on entry:
Entry Level Functional Skills
You’ll develop practical skills that support you in everyday situations.
Your learning will develop confidence, independence and fluency in English skills that help you to get the most out of education, work and everyday life.
GCSE Grade 2 (E/F) = GCSE English Language
You will develop skills across creative reading and writing, understanding writers’ viewpoints and perspectives and develop spoken language skills.GCSE Grade 3 (D/E) or Functional Skills Level 1 = GCSE English Language
You will develop skills across creative reading and writing, understanding writers’ viewpoints and perspectives and develop spoken language skills.
GCSE Grade 4 English Language (C) or Functional Skills Level 2 = EPQ
The Level 3 Extended Project Qualification requires you to produce a piece of focused project work on a subject of your choice.
Guidance and support will be available to you in choosing your subject and developing your work.
Maths
Standard on entry:
No QoE or GCSE Grade 1 = Entry Level Functional Skills
You’ll develop practical skills that help you in everyday situations.
Your learning will enable you to take on mathematical challenges with guidance, and on your own.
GCSE Grade 2 (E) = GCSE Maths
You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of a range of mathematical concepts including number, algebra, ratio, geometry, probability and statistics.GCSE Grade 3 (D/E) or Functional Skills Level 1 = GCSE Mathematics
You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of a range of mathematical concepts including number, algebra, ratio, geometry, probability and statistics.GCSE Grade 4 English Language (C) or Functional Skills Level 2 = Core Maths
This is a Level 3 maths qualification designed to build on your mathematical understanding and improve your quantitative problem-solving skills as well as prepare you for the mathematical demands of further study and employment.
