This course is designed for young people aged 16-18 or up to 24 with an EHCP, who have Special Educational Needs.
Learners may include those with behaviour, emotional and social difficulties (BESD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mild or moderate learning difficulties (MLD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).
They are typically working between Entry Level 2 and Level 1 and are looking to improve their study skills, employability skills and personal social development.

Teaching is personalised to support individual EHCP outcomes and each learner’s personal goals.
You will be assessed through OCN entry‑level vocational qualification criteria, using a combination of practical activities, portfolio building and personalised goal setting.
Assessment focuses on the development of employability, independence and personal social skills, ensuring progress is aligned to individual EHCP outcomes.
You will need to be aged 16-18 or up to 24 with an EHCP and have identified Special Educational Needs and/or a learning difficulty.
You should be working towards Entry Level 3. All applicants complete an assessment or interview to ensure that this course is the most suitable option for your needs and development.
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress into higher‑level vocational programmes, Skills for Progression pathways, employability‑focused courses, supported internships or further personalised SEND provision, depending on individual readiness and interests.
