This Level 1 course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to develop as a trainee stylist. You will learn the basic hairdressing skills such as Shampoo and Conditioning and Hair styling.
It is ideal if you're just starting out in hair and beauty and want an understanding of the industry - enough to succeed in a job in the area as a junior or to move on to further study, such a as level 2 Hair or Beauty qualification.
Within this course you will start to develop your skills as a trainee hairdresser and you will learn skills in Shampoo and conditioning and hair styling. You will also be given opportunity to experience the commercial Salon gaining valuable skills and experience.
The units for this course include:
- Prepare for hair services and maintain work area
- Contribute to the development of effective working relationships
- shampoo and condition
- Plait and twist hair using basic techniques
- Blow dry hair
- Assist with hair colouring and lightening services
Throughout this course you will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding, as well as complete end of unit online GOLA exams.
You will need to have GCSEs at Grade 2 or above in English and Maths, as well as in two other subjects.
This course will allow you to progress onto the next level of hairdressing, at either a Level 1 or Level 2.
