Cllr Princess Bright is a leader, role model and history maker.
Before making history as the youngest-ever Mayor of Barking & Dagenham in 2025, Cllr Princess Bright was laying the foundations of her journey right here at Barking & Dagenham College.
Dedicated, driven and community-focused from the start, Cllr Bright studied with us before going on to build a career rooted in service and leadership. Her passion for people and making a difference has been at the heart of everything she has done.
Elected as a councillor in 2018 at just 22 years old, she’s since gone from strength to strength - championing young people, diversity and opportunity in the borough. In May 2025, she made local history when she was inaugurated as the borough’s Civic Mayor.
A true inspiration for the next generation, Cllr Bright proves that leadership starts with believing in yourself and never forgetting where you came from.
