This course is designed for you if you have completed a Level 2 Electrical Installation course and want to progress your skills in system design, inspection, testing and fault diagnosis.

You will gain the advanced knowledge and practical ability required to work as an electrician or progress to higher-level training within the building services industry.

On this course, you will learn:

  • Environmental technology systems
  • Electrical installation planning, preparation and design
  • Advanced electrical installation craft skills
  • Inspection, testing and commissioning electrical systems
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults
  • Electrical science and principles

Optional units include:

  • Overseeing and organising work environments
  • Small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) system installation

You will be assessed through a combination of written tests, multiple choice exams, practical tests and testing on simulated installations.

You will need to have a Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress into higher-level training within the industry or into employment.

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
