Beauty Therapy

Continue your education and develop more advanced treatment skills on this Level 2 course.

You'll learn a range of popular beauty treatments, including manicure, pedicure and facials.

You'll also learn about the anatomy and physiology of the human body.

Course units at Level 2 are:

  • Apply Great-Looking Make-Up
  • Follow Health & Safety Practice in the Salon
  • Eyelash & Brow Treatments
  • Facial Skincare
  • Remove Hair Using Waxing Techniques
  • Salon Reception Duties
  • Client Care & Communication in Beauty-Related Industries
  • Manicure Treatments
  • Pedicure Treatments
  • Skin-Tanning Techniques
  • Threading Services for Hair Removal

You'll need to do both written and practical assignments, as well as online exams.

Students will also build a portfolio of evidence throughout the course.

Time on campus will involve learning in our fully equipped beauty classrooms.

You'll be using industry-standard professional skin and nail-care products.

You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 3 (D) or above.

As part of the application process you will also be asked to explain why you want to study this course, so that we can ensure any course offer made aligns to your career goals.

Or you'll need to have successfully completed a relevant Level 1 course.

The tutors on this course have loads of knowledge and experience from working in hair & beauty.

They've also got links within the industry so can help you get valuable work experience.

You'll get plenty of chance to work in both realistic - and real - situations!

As well as doing work experience placements, you'll be styling for paying clients in our Salon.

You can develop your skills further and prepare for employment on the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

You could also look to specialise by taking other courses at Level 2 or 3.

Alternatively you can look for a job to develop the skills you've learnt.

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
