Are you looking to start your own business or do you want to progress to higher education in business and management?

This two-year course is designed to provide you with the business skills you'll need for success in further study or employment.

You'll gain real work experience alongside your studies. Through a host of entrepreneurial initiatives and competitions, you'll develop employability skills enabling you to unlock your talent, develop your business ideas, enhance new-found confidence, and boost your academic attainment.

You'll study the following mandatory units:

  • Developing a Marketing Campaign
  • Personal and Business Finance
  • Principles of Management
  • Business Decision Making
  • Exploring Business
  • Managing an Event
  • International Business

You'll also be able to choose from the following optional units:

  • Recruitment and Selection Process
  • Team Building in Business
  • Investigating Retail Business
  • Creative Promotion
  • Pitching for a New Business
  • Work Experience in Business (Supported by Career Ready UK)

You'll be assessed by exams and assignments on this course.

You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 4 (C) or above.

As part of the application process you will also be asked to explain why you want to study this course, so that we can ensure any course offer made aligns to your career goals.

The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business is a great option if you're looking to progress to university, employment or higher level apprenticeships.

Where it can lead to
Career progression

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
