This a one-year, full-time study programme focused on developing sector and transferable practical and technical skills, attributes and behaviours including functional skills in Maths and English to enable learners to progress onto further study and employment.

To achieve this qualification, learners will study a total of 10 units of which 4 are core skills units and remaining are business specific skills units aimed at developing communication skills, team work, problem solving, time management, organizing and personal development through participating in discussion, entrepreneurial and charitable projects, fund raising events, business competitions and written assignments.

  • Unit 1: Being Organized
  • Unit 2: Developing a Personal Progression Plan
  • Unit 3: Working with Others
  • Unit 4: Researching a Topic

Sector Specific Units:

  • Unit 6: Organizing a Meeting
  • Unit 7: Branding a Product
  • Unit 8: Creating a Visual Display
  • Unit 9: Presenting a Business Idea
  • Unit 10: Contribute to Running an Event
  • Unit 11: Recording Income and Expenditure

This course includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. All units are internally assessed and are graded using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified subject to external standards verification.

There is no exam unit is this qualification.

No prior qualifications are required for enrollment.

Learners will have the opportunity to study Maths and English as part of their study programme.

The Learners could progress onto L2 Diploma in Business, Administration or Law.

Alternatively, they could progress into L2 Apprenticeships or traineeships.

Where it can lead to

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
