This course would suit you if:

  • You've successfully completed the Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting
  • You're studying full-time and want to pursue a career in accountancy, finance or business
  • You're looking for an alternative to A Levels
  • You want to develop broader business skills to enhance your job prospects
  • You're already working in finance but want a qualification to improve your career prospects
  • You want to work in bookkeeping in a large company's finance department
  • You're self-employed and need to learn how to do your own bookkeeping
  • You're looking to change career

Building on the knowledge gained at Level 2, this course includes study units in:

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Final Accounts Preparation
  • Management Accounting: Costing
  • Indirect Tax
  • Spreadsheets for Accounting
  • Ethics for Accounting

You'll need to complete online assessments for:

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Final Accounts Preparation
  • Management Accounting
  • Costing & Indirect Tax

There will also be a general online assessment at the end of the course covering all units except Indirect Tax.

You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 4 (C) or above.

As part of the application process you will also be asked to explain why you want to study this course, so that we can ensure any course offer made aligns to your career goals.

You'll ideally need to have completed the Level 2 qualification MERIT to start this course. You will also need basic IT skills.

Tutors are qualified accountants with years of experience in industry and in delivering AAT qualification courses.

Work experience can help develop your skills and improve your job prospects for the future.

During the course you'll also have the chance to enter the BASE Competition for Accounting & Business students and attend the Accountex Conference. Both are great ways to make contacts and improve your employability.

On successful completion of this course you can progress to studying AAT Professional Diploma units at Level 4.

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
