Over the course of this 2-year programme, you'll learn all the skills required to work as a Therapeutic Counsellor for an agency.
You will need to build an evidence-based portfolio throughout this course.
You will study 6 hours per week, plus 5 Saturday workshops covering various topics relevant to your qualification.
You'll need to have gained the Level 2 and 3 counselling skills and theory to be able to study on our level 4 programme.
You'll also need to source your own placement for the 2nd year of the programme.
Entry to this course is dependent on the outcome of a Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check.
You'll volunteer as a counsellor and will need to achieve a minimum of 100 supervised hours in a formal counselling agency. Your placement will give you further work experience and contact with employers.
Successfully completing the course means you can progress to Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which will enable you to work in private practice. You could also move on to study at degree-level in counselling.
