This course will allow those who aren't able to progress to FE or Emp to become active members of the community.

The course helps them to reach this goal and establish a culture of possible volunteering in the community to ensure that young SEND people do not disappear from our communities after education.

On this course, you will learn to become active members of the community through:

  • Communication
  • Life skills
  • Social skills
  • Following instructions
  • Accessing facilities
  • Creating routines for self
  • Volunteer skills
  • Using facilities
  • Communication
  • Customer service

You will be assessed through internal assessments (dates and times scheduled by the College and exams are marked by curriculum).

You will need to be working at Entry 1 or Pre Entry 2 Level and hold an EHCP.

On completion of this course, you will be able to become an active member in the local community using the skills learnt.

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
