This course is for you if you have an interest in creative activities involving art & design elements.

On this course you will have the opportunity to learn skills and techniques from various different pathways, fine arts, 3D, textiles and photography.

You will undertake a range of assignments that will introduce you to a variety of Art and Design Specialisms.

You will also gain valuable visual language skills through a series of Contextual Studies where you will learn about the work of other Artists and Designers from the creative industries.

Students performance is graded via a combination of practical and written coursework. Course units are assessed throughout the year, building towards a final project which brings together the various skills you have learned.

You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 2 (E) or above.

As part of the application process you will also be asked to explain why you want to study this course, so that we can ensure any course offer made aligns to your career goals.

On successful completion, progression to a Level 2 course.

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
