This course incorporates acting, movement & dance and aims to develop skills to create an all-round professional performer.

You will focus on developing a wide range of knowledge & skills and includes exploring different ways of working in various performance styles.

Much of the course involves practical explorations and public performances alongside project based work, as well as building a personal portfolio.

On this course, you will learn:

  • Performance styles
  • Creating material through physical theatre
  • Performing to an audience
  • Planning a career in the industry

You will study in a creatively rich environment within our School for the Performing Arts & Technical Theatre. You will also have access to rehearsal and performance spaces.

You will work collaboratively with other students on productions at a range of venues, and you will have the opportunity to choreograph your own vibrant and innovative pieces.

You will be assessed through internal methods, including practical workshops, performances, written assignments, reflective logs and digital documentation of process.

You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 4 (C) or above.

There are a range of trips and workshops with industry professionals and stakeholders.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress onto the Extended Diploma in Performing Arts.

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
