This course is a progression route for learners completing their level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

You will learn how to set up as a senior practitioner in private practice, the law around this and how to apply your client work.

On this course, you will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies to work as a self-employed counsellor in an independent practice.

The course also equips you on how to take on a senior counselling role in an organisational context where client assessment, referral and routine evaluation are part of the role.

You will be assessed through a portfolio of work and marked internally.

You will need to have completed your Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

On completion of this course, you will be able to get a job independently as a counselling practitioner and also be able to set up your own business.

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
