This course has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide you with a platform from which to progress through further learnings or into employment.
This qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required in the electrotechnical sector.
On this course, you will learn:
- Principles of electrical science
- Electrical design and installation practices and procedures
- Principles of inspection, testing and commissioning electrical systems
- Inspecting, testing and commissioning electrical systems
- Electrical system fault diagnosis and rectification
- Requirements for electrical installations
You will also learn additional units in sustainability, green skills & new technology and transferable skills.
You will be assessed through two written exams.
You will need to have GCSE English, Maths and Science at Grade 4 or above, as well as in one other subject.
You will also need to have passed a Level 2 Electrical course.
Once you have completed this course, you will be able to move onto an Apprenticeship, into Higher Education or into employment.
