Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and domestic environments, working both indoors and outdoors.
They work with a wide range of equipment and systems, such as switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, fault protection devices, lighting, heating, air conditioning, metering equipment, alarm systems, and renewable energy technologies.
Electricians can work independently without direct supervision, often contributing to the design of systems, interpreting drawings and specifications, and sourcing installation materials. They must follow safe working practices and ensure all systems are safe to use upon completion.

For this Apprenticeship, you will need to have GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade 4 (C) or above. You will also need to be employed in a relevant role before starting this Apprenticeship.
On completion of this Apprenticeship, you will have satisfied the requirements to be able to register as EngTech by the Engineering Council.
