This course will give you actual experience delivering coaching sessions to children in a variety of local schools.
You will learn the necessary skills required for planning, delivering and reviewing coaching sessions. You will also have practical observations/assessments from an employer and be given an opportunity for employment following the successful completion of your course.
On this course, you will learn:
- Exercise, health and lifestyle
- Preparing for a career in Sport and Physical Activity
- Sports coaching
Other units will require you to develop your skills to support the local and wider community, for instance, delivering sports events to primary schools; Rush Green Primary and Valency Primary, as well as We Make Footballers.
You will be assessed through a mix of written assignments, portfolio work and employer assessments.
You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 4 (C) or above.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to move into Higher Education or employment into coaching.
