This course will give you actual experience delivering coaching sessions to children in a variety of local schools.

You will learn the necessary skills required for planning, delivering and reviewing coaching sessions. You will also have practical observations/assessments from an employer and be given an opportunity for employment following the successful completion of your course.

On this course, you will learn:

  • Exercise, health and lifestyle
  • Preparing for a career in Sport and Physical Activity
  • Sports coaching

Other units will require you to develop your skills to support the local and wider community, for instance, organising an event that supports awarding bodies e.g UK Dodgeball to deliver/promote their sport to young people.

You will also gain other NGB qualifications, such as Dodgeball Level 1 Award in coaching as part of this qualification.

You will be assessed through a portfolio and employer assessments.

You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 4 (C) or above.

As part of the application process you will also be asked to explain why you want to study this course, so that we can ensure any course offer made aligns to your career goals.

Once you have completed this course, you will be able to go directly into employment with Premier Education and/or Everyone Active or HEI.

Where it can lead to
Career progression
