Looking to pursue a career in the education and childcare sector?

This T level course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to enter skilled employment.

Throughout this course you’ll benefit from a combination of both classroom learning as well as on-the-job training, to develop a strong foundation in both theory and practice.

The qualification ensures that learners are equipped with up-to-date occupational knowledge and skills that are in demand among employers, helping students stay current with industry trends and developments.

This course covers units including:

  • Child development
  • Safeguarding
  • Equality and diversity
  • Health and Safety
  • Communication skills
  • Understanding and managing behaviour
  • How to support children and young people’s education
  • Observing and assessing children and young people

You will be assessed though coursework, observations, assignments and exams.

You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 4 (C) or above.

As part of the application process you will also be asked to explain why you want to study this course, so that we can ensure any course offer made aligns to your career goals.

Working in the industry allows you to put your knowledge into practice. It'll also help with progressing to further study or when looking for jobs.

Successful completion of the course will give you a licence to practice, enabling you to enter the workforce as a qualified Early Years Educator.

Alternatively, you can also use this T Level qualification to do a related higher-level apprenticeship or degree course.

Where it can lead to
Career progression

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
