The Community Interpreting Level 1 course is a career starter for those who are fluent in another language and will allow you to begin qualifications towards becoming a qualified interpreter.

Courses start throughout the year: September, December and March. Once you have applied online, you will hear from us within 6-8 weeks to get you started on the next available course.

This qualification is for anyone who would like to learn about the role of an interpreter and work with different linguistic groups within the community. You will explore the public and voluntary organisations and identify in what ways they support community needs. You will also learn how to use language skills to the best advantage as an interpreter.

The Award consists of three mandatory units evidenced through a portfolio.

This course is for anyone who is fluent in English (at least Level 1) and another language.
