Our policies specific to Higher Education are listed and linked below.
General costs
You are expected to provide your own writing equipment (pens, pencils, etc.), and pay for your own printing requirements and stationery.
All assignments are carefully planned to ensure you can achieve the learning outcomes without excessive expense. You may however choose to invest additional monies in the production in your assignments.
A typical cost for the production of an assignment would be in the region of £30. This would cover the cost of folders for presentation, printing and any additional photocopying. The College Learning and Resource Centre provides affordable printing and binding and, as a higher education student, you receive an allocation of printing credits at the start of your course.
Costs for optional activities.
Some courses provide opportunities for students to undertake optional activities which are not a mandatory part of the course. Participation is at your discretion. Details of such activities/opportunities will be provided directly by your course team and information on these is included in the course information available to you before you enrol.
National and international trips are planned to enrich the learning experience, these are not mandatory but students are encouraged to participate. Please note that you will be required to have a passport with adequate time remaining before expiring (normally 6 months) in order to travel internationally. The cost of obtaining a valid passport remains the responsibility of the student.
