Adedayo, Applied Science BTEC

“It gave me practical knowledge - not just theory.”

Adedayo chose the BTEC in Applied Science because he wanted a course that focused on real-world learning. With aspirations to become a pharmacist, he felt that a hands-on approach would better prepare him for the future.

He says, “I wanted practical knowledge, not just theory - the BTEC gave me exactly that.”

One of the highlights of his college experience was taking part in the Inter College Skills competition, where he competed in a lab-based challenge alongside students from across London. “It was a really valuable experience and gave me the opportunity to push myself.”

He also gained insight into the world of pharmacy through a work placement at a community pharmacy, where he learned how day-to-day operations are managed and what the role involves.

With plans to take a gap year before starting university, Adedayo is focused on progressing to a pharmacy degree and working towards his goal of becoming a qualified pharmacist.

“The BTEC gave me the skills, confidence and direction to move forward.”
