This distance learning course is a route into upskilling or retraining to move into the electrical industry, helping you close the skills gap and enter the industry.
It is designed to provide and help develop knowledge on regulations, practical skills and the science required for electrical installation work.
This course is a great option if you have previously completed a Level 1 in Electrical or within a different trade or are looking to increase your knowledge with the view of entering the electrical industry. This is a great entry level course if you’re looking to upskill in your career.
You will need to attend the college for a total of 10 days within the year to complete the practical elements of this course.
On this course, you will learn:
- The health & safety requirements governing electrical installation processes
- Knowledge of the organisation and structure of the electrical industry
- Electrical scientific principles
- Electrical technology
- Communications
You will be assessed through four online multiple-choice exams. You will occasionally need to attend Rush Green Campus to complete the practical elements of this course, including the practical exam.
You will need to have a Grade 4 or equivalent in English, Maths and Science, or relevant trade experience.
On completion of this course, you will be able to progress to further study on the Level 3 18th Edition Inspection and Testing course. You will also be able to move onto an AM2 and NVQ course.
