Students raise over £1000 for liver disease charity

10th April 2017

Barking & Dagenham College students presented a cheque for £1155 to a representative from the Children?s Liver Disease Foundation on Friday.

The students had raised the money last month as part of the charity’s ‘Big Yellow Friday’, a day packed full of entertainment including appearances from former The Voice contestant Diamond and Girl band Alien Uncovered from the 2015 series of the X Factor.

The event was organised by the College’s Learner Involvement Coordinator Karen Boxall, who helped to organise the event after hearing about her colleague Maxine Ison’s baby grandson Freddie who suffers from a type of liver disease called Biliary Atresia.
