?Read books and persevere if you want to succeed? advises Charlie Health from Dagenham, who, alongside his City job with a wine brokerage, has just launched his own domestic and commercial cleaning business, Heath Cleaning Contractors (you can find them on Twitter @HeathCleaning), in partnership with his father, Mark, and brother.
For one so young, Charlie’s resilience and determination is quite something, as is his growing library of books by motivational gurus and business leaders.
Millionaire habits“I think I’ve read about 25 of these and I just can’t get enough. At the moment I’m enjoying “The Top 10 Habits of Millionaires” by Keith Cameron Smith,” explains Charlie.
Developing a taste for businessCharlie joined Barking & Dagenham College one day a week studying for a BTEC in Construction alongside his GCSEs at Eastbrook School, and it was during the College’s Interview Skills Workshops that he got a taste for business.
“The College’s Lecturers, especially Laurence Clark and Bob Noseda, spent hours helping me perfect my CV and sending it off to various companies,” adds Charlie, “Their knowledge about how business works really made me ambitious.”
With loads of business ideas bubbling away, and a clear 10-year plan, Charlie is keen to stress that it was the College that set him on the right path,
“I just wanted to say thank you once again for the whole college experience and all the help they gave me, especially Laurence and Bob. I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
