MBA for mum Lola as students graduate in style

The Barking & Dagenham College Higher Education Graduation and Award ceremony took place on Saturday 28th November 2015. 234 students graduated, receiving awards and certificates in subjects ranging from fine art, construction, automotive engineering and creative media production, to business studies, animation and graphic design.

Over 400 people joined the celebrations including proud family and friends and the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Councillor Simon Bremner.

Confidence

Lola Olawole, aged 50 from Romford was supported by a large group of her proud family members, including her two daughters, son and two of her nieces (see pic) who came to see her collecting her MBA.

Lola extols the confidence studying for an MBA gave her:

“After pursuing Chartered Management Institute training, I took on an MBA at Barking & Dagenham College. It has been a long journey but I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been a great learning curve.”

“I own a consultancy business and graduating with an MBA has made me more confident and has drastically improved my communication skills. I believe the accreditation will allow potential clients to trust me more as I plan to go forward with my business in the future.”

Higher Education programme draws praise

Brendan James, Head of Higher Education Quality & Enhancement at the College said:

“This celebration draws to close another fantastic year for the College’s higher education division which was praised by the Government’s HE quality watchdog earlier in the year.”
