College launches its first online courses

25th July 2017

Anyone can now study with Barking & Dagenham College - without even leaving home.

The College has developed a partnership with leading UK edtech firm, e-Careers Limited, in order to offer online courses.

With over 600 courses available via its unique e-learning platform, e-Careers has successfully educated in excess of 400,000 individuals over the past five years alone.

The most popular courses are in business development, accountancy and project management, so the College hopes that they will prove popular within the local business community.

Online courses have a number of benefits including are affordability and flexibility; they are also accredited by leading organisations such as Microsoft, Prince 2 and Cisco.

Although the College expects many of its online students to be from the local area, of course people from across London and beyond can do one of their new courses.

Working mum of two Kate Bishop from Enfield was one of the first to try out the online courses; she road-tested the ‘Diploma in Blogging’, costing £90. Kate said:

It was really easy to sign-up and get started on my blogging course. I’ve wanted to learn about blogging for several years now, but with two small children and my own business to run, I just haven’t found the time to do it. The online course was really easy to access on the go; I did it on my phone, tablet and also at my desk at work whenever I got a spare half hour!

I’d highly recommend the course to other busy people who can’t make it to college lessons. The course was really fascinating and I can’t wait to put into practise what I have learnt.”
