“Everything is new to me, so I’m learning something new every day”
Adam has always wanted to get into a trade, as his uncle is an electrician and started to teach him the basics. Once Adam has passed his course, he has the possibility to work with his uncle, as an Apprentice.
On his course, Adam has been able to learn many new aspects in Electrical, as well as receiving continuous support from his tutors and classmates. He loves the flexibility of the course – being able to learn but still having a great balance of socialising with his friends, especially the ones he’s made at Barking & Dagenham College.
Everything Adam has learnt so far has been new to him and he’s enjoying learning something new every day. Unfortunately, due to covid, work experience had to be put on hold but he’s looking forward to the work experience opportunities he’ll receive in Level 2 and 3.
Once fully qualified, Adam would like to own his own company.
My experience at BDC has been great; inside and outside of the classroom. We have a WhatsApp group now and that’s been great for communication and being able to keep in contact with everyone.
