Students collect coats for homeless

11th December 2018

Enterprise students from Barking & Dagenham College collected 100 warm coats for homeless people.

The ‘Wrap up London’ project collects peoples’ old, unwanted coats and gives them to charities that support the homeless.

Students took turns to man the coat collection point in the College each morning from 8.30-9.30. The students also made Christmas Baubles to sell at the College’s Christmas fair last week, with proceeds going to local Homeless charities.

Giuditta Meneghetti, Curriculum Team Leader – Business and Public Services at the College assisted the students, she said:

“I’m so proud of our students who have done a great job collecting coats to help keep vulnerable people warm this winter. Some of the students also volunteered to help ‘Wrap up London’ sort the coats at Liverpool Street Station.”
