The Great Britain Long Jumper and British Champion 2014, JJ Jegede visited Barking & Dagenham College students last Friday to talk about the keys to success.
JJ is taking part in the Sky Sports Living for Sport scheme which offers schools and colleges a day with an athlete. The scheme is run by Youth Sport Trust and Sky Sports to inspire youngsters to be the best they can be.
The College picked out 20 sports students who they felt would benefit from getting some inspiration from JJ and then they got to spend the day with him; he gave them a presentation on what he calls the ‘Six keys to success’. They ended the day with games that put the six keys into action, testing their mental toughness and people skills etc.
JJ is the founder of Olympic Heroes, a charity which uses sporting stars to provide young people inspiration to aim higher and make positive life choices. The Heroes take time out of their busy schedules to impart success strategies to today's youth so they too can succeed in any endeavour they choose.
