Employers from across the region attended free workshops at Barking & Dagenham College recently to find out more about the Government?s new Apprenticeship Levy, which launches in 6 April 2017.
Monique Clements, (pictured below), Director of Employer Engagement at the College, explains,
“The new Levy will affect how every employer in the UK recruits and trains apprentices for their business.
“Our job is to demystify the process and make it as easy as possible for employers to understand their obligations and benefits, so they can concentrate on running their business.
“We’ll be issuing a series of simple factsheets as more information is made available by Government, and these will be available on our website.”
Employer feedbackRoy Ramrutton, Commuity Development Manager, at Breyer Group added,
"This has given me a good insight into the Apprenticeship Levy, the issues we face. It was insightful, well delivered and in a good location. I would encourage others to attend future workshops."
John Goodwin of Oakleafe Property Services Ltd commented,
"The Levy is a potential minefield and today has opened our eyes and made us aware of our responsibilities."
Keith McGroarty, Business Development Manager, DKM Assessment, said:
"Very informative. Although this is the early stages of the Government's plans, this helped me understand what's ahead."
