Barking & Dagenham College has filled over 2500 places for full-time courses this September and has a waiting list.
High demand for 16-18 year old courses has resulted in the majority of courses for 2024-2025 being full, with subjects including health and social care, electrical and engineering courses proving particularly popular.
However, for those due to finish their GCSEs next year, there is plenty of time to apply for 2025. The College will be hosting an Open Day on Saturday 5th October.
The Open Day is an opportunity to take a tour of the College’s multi-million-pound facilities and industry-leading equipment, including the £15m East London Institute of Technology.
Visitors can expect to speak to industry-experienced tutors, find out more about courses, placement options, and find out about careers.
It’s an opportunity to speak to student-focused teams about various types of support the college gives all its students; experts will be on hand to chat to about any additional learning needs, bursary advice, or career questions you may have.
Claire Wilsher, Director of Marketing, Communications and Admissions at Barking & Dagenham College says: “With the high demand for our 16-18 year old full-time courses this year, please apply as soon as you can for 2025 to avoid disappointment.”
However, the Open Day is also for adult students and those looking to do part-time courses.
Claire explains: “We have adult courses, which start throughout the year and so have places available, covering a wide range of subjects, such as English, maths, and a wide range of vocational subjects starting soon.”
