Stuart Haygarth, the multi award-winning British artist who creates art installations from ?found objects?, delivered a masterclass at Barking & Dagenham College recently as part of the The National Art&Design Saturday Club.
Stuart set the aspiring artists a brief to create a small light or chandelier using plastic disposable cups, and then worked with them to help them develop their creations.
Janice Amonoo, Lecturer in Art & Fashion at the College, said
“This was a great opportunity for local young people to experience and learn a craft from a prominent British artist. They loved it and learnt skills that they now have for life.
"We hope the Club will inspire them to explore their options to train for a career in the creative sector - we’d certainly love to see them back here as students on one of our courses.”
