Our offer to schools

Our offer to schools

Campus tours

We offer tailored campus tours to groups of students who would like to see the college in action. These take place during college hours for students to experience what it would be like to study here after leaving school. These tours are available at all our sites, including the Broadway Theatre in Barking.

Taster days

We run regular in-house taster days in a range of subjects designed to give students an enriching experience and a thirst for further study.

Open Events

Throughout the year, we open our college doors to everyone. This is a chance for potential students and parents/carers to come along and meet with course tutors, tour the different subject areas, gain advice from our Careers Guidance team and can even apply to a course and have an interview/acceptance there and then. See our college calendar for the full list of Open Events.

Careers advice

We have a dedicated Careers Team here at Barking & Dagenham College and this is available for all pre-16 students to engage with. Come along to our drop-in advice sessions, or book a slot to ensure you receive impartial information, advice and guidance for your career and the courses that can get you to where you want to be.

Sports Trials

At our Rush Green Campus, we run several sports trials throughout the year for potential recruits onto our Rugby and Football Academy. For more information, come along to one of our taster sessions or contact us to find out more.

Special Educational Needs Disability Provision

If your students have a SEN and/or disability with an EHC plan, then they are entitled to a personalised taster session in a subject of their choice. They can be accompanied by a parent/carer or teacher and enjoy a 1:1 session on our campus, where they will be provided with all the information about the college’s extra provision and the courses available to them.

Outreach Activities

The Engagement team would be delighted to visit schools, academies or community venues and to deliver support at parent events, staff meetings, assemblies, careers and employability showcases, as well as presenting hands-on inspiring sessions to student groups.
