Aimed at parents, this short course will enable you to support your child with their numeracy skills, and your own.

Learn some useful tips and techniques to confidently answer that question at home: “Can you help me with my maths homework?”

Good numeracy skills can help in everyday life, but could also unlock job opportunities and lead to higher wages, or prepare you for further study.

Funded by the Government, as part of the Skills for Life, this course is part of the Multiply project.

On this short course, you’ll develop your understanding of the primary school maths curriculum, what your child(ren) will be learning about, and how this is taught.

You’ll learn about a range of strategies, ideas and techniques for ways to support your child(ren) as they increase their numeracy skills at school. And at the same time, you’ll also increase your own maths skills!

There are no exams. You’ll be informally assessed throughout the course to check your progress and understanding.

This course is FREE for adults aged 19+ who don’t already have GCSE Maths, or equivalent, at grade C or above.

By the end of this short course, you’ll have gained a much better understanding of your child(ren)’s primary school curriculum, and how you can support them in their development! Not only will this boost your young person’s future academic and career opportunities, but you’ll also have improved your own job prospects, by gaining a qualification to add to your CV.

There are a range of other short courses within the Multiply project, which could also support you towards your life and career goals.

Or, if you’d like to further your numeracy skills after completion of this course, we offer a range of Level 1 and 2 courses in Finance & Accounting.
