This Apprenticeship will enable you to competently perform the professional sport in which you train such as cricket, football, rugby league, rugby union and equestrianism.
In your daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with coaches, employers, fellow athletes, sporting officials and multidisciplinary support staff, administrative staff, external partners, for example, broadcasters, fans.
This qualification will prepare you for alternative career paths if a professional sports career is not your only option in this field.
On this Apprenticeship, you will learn:
- Maintaining a high level of fitness to allow you to participate in training and competitions
- Sustaining a lifestyle designed to optimise performance
- Being aware of external factors that may affect individual performance, both physically and psychologically
- Maintaining a positive and inclusive image of your sport, as part of your social responsibility
To achieve this Apprenticeship standard, you will be assessed through a knowledge test, practical observation and professional interview.
You will need to have GCSE Maths, English Language and two additional subjects at grade 4 (C) or above.

On completion of this Apprenticeship, you will be able to progress onto Higher Education.
