This one-year course allows you to widen your business knowledge through studying varieties of business modules designed to suit your individual needs and prepare you for future business challenges.

The course covers a range of subjects, including:

  • Strategic Management
  • Employment Law
  • Strategic Marketing
  • Managing People in an International Context
  • Dissertation

Each module should require around 36 hours of direct learning through a combination of lectures and tutorials. An estimated further commitment of 160 independent study hours will be required for each module, although this can vary from student to student.

Assessment methods include academic essays, presentations, reports, simulation exercises and examinations.

The academic requirements for the course are HND in Business or Management or other related level 5 qualifications with a minimum of 240 credits.

We're committed to supporting our students to maximise their academic potential. We offer workshops and support sessions in areas such as academic writing, effective note-making and preparing for assignments. Students can book appointments with academic skills tutors dedicated to help students deal with the practicalities of work. Our student support section has more information on the help available.

Teaching methods include workshop-based core skills modules, lectures by practitioners, student-led seminars and guided research.

Independent learning is an important aspect of all modules, as it enables students to develop both their subject specific and key skills. Independent learning is promoted through the feedback given to students, which takes several forms including small group and one-to-one discussions.
