If you have an interest in PE or sports coaching, then this course will provide you with the key skills and experience to help you take that first step into a coaching role or to study sport at a higher level.
By the end of this course you'll understand how to plan, deliver and review sessions across a wide range of sports and activities, and be able to adapt this to different groups including children, disabled people and older people.
On completion of the course you're guaranteed an interview with one of our top coaching employers, which is a great opportunity to kickstart your exciting career in sport!
You will learn how to plan, deliver, adapt and review your activity sessions to ensure fun, inclusive and impactful activities are delivered to a wide range of population groups.
You will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence from your tutor and our employer(s) to ensure you are competent and confident to deliver the best activities sessions. This course is very hands on and practical.
You'll need to have a general interest in sport or activity coaching as well as 2 GCSEs at grades 6 or 7, or higher.
On successful completion of this course you can progress to a Level 3 Coaching qualification, where our partner coaching employer will continue to monitor your progress. If they are impressed with your progress, you may be offered employment in a higher paid and lead coaching role for their company at the end of the course.
Some students also progress to study Sports Coaching and Performance at university, where you'll develop the skills and knowledge required for coaching in professional organisations, including becoming a PE teacher in primary or secondary schools.
