This course is a great option if you're thinking about a career in the hospitality industry.

You'll learn in our professional kitchens and will benefit from invaluable experience working in our very own commercial restaurant, The Chef's Hat. This will provide you with fantastic insight into what it's really like to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

On this course you'll learn about:

  • Basic food preparation skills
  • Basic cooking skills
  • Basic menu development skills
  • Knowledge and skills to setup and prepare a dinning area ready for service
  • Customer service skills

On this course you will need to complete both written assignments and practical observations to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.

You will also be required to build a portfolio of evidence throughout your course as well.

For entry onto this course you will need to demonstrate an interest in the food and hospitality industry and show a passion and commitment to learning.

On successful completion of this course you will be able to progress onto a Level 1 Food Studies programme, where you can further develop your hospitality skills, experience and knowledge.

Where it can lead to

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
