The creative industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the UK, with multimillion-pound development projects in the southeast.

This Short Courses will help you explore different sources to inspire ideas and develop the composition in painting and drawing. Experiment with a range of approaches and techniques.

Creative Drawing short course will give learners a taste of the ever-growing creative design industry and the opportunity to develop their skills further. You will gain knowledge of a range of creative drawing skills including, scaling, proportion, tonal work, visual recording, etc.

Learners will be assessed on two units over a six-week period.

The course is open to all levels and experience, and is also suitable for those wishing to build a portfolio to progress onto other Art & Design Courses. More experienced students will be able to further develop their skills, and explore new techniques and materials.

BDC recognises the importance of developing skills to a high standard, this course offers potential adult learners the chance to improve their knowledge of the area and change their career path.


This course can also help students progress onto other relevant courses at BDC or with more people needed to fill positions across London and the southeast by 2022, it is also the perfect time to retrain and develop new skills.

Where it can lead to

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
