Diabetes is a growing health problem worldwide, but it can be prevented, delayed or managed with simple lifestyle changes.

If you work in the care sector or just want to look out for your own health or the health of someone you know, you'll gain essential knowledge about diabetes by studying this online course.

It's delivered entirely online and can be studied at a pace that suits you. You could complete in as little as 6 weeks dependent on the time you can commit.

On this course you'll learn about the different forms and causes of diabetes, as well as how to care, treat and manage the condition. You'll study the following:

  • Evidence of staff competency to external stakeholders
  • Relevant in a wide variety of care settings
  • Reduces the risk of malpractice and negligence
  • Improves your team’s understanding of forms and causes of diabetes
  • Reinforces the importance of careful managing and monitoring

This Level 2 course is free if you:

  • currently live in England
  • are aged 19+
  • have been a resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years
  • are not be on an apprenticeship

On successful completion of this course, you’ll have earned a NCFE CACHE Level 2 certificate which could also help you progress your career, or enter a new sector – whilst giving you the knowledge to care, treat and manage diabetes.

Where it can lead to

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
