Many patients develop an infection in England each year while being treated by the NHS.
Protecting people from infection is a really important part of providing high-quality care, especially as some life-threatening infections can spread easily within care environments.
This course is delivered entirely online and can be studied at a pace that suits you. You could complete in as little as 6 weeks dependent on the time you can commit.
On this course you will learn:
- the purpose and principles of infection control and the procedures
- how regulations inform policy and practice
- the roles, responsibilities, principles and processes in relation to cleaning, decontamination and waste management
- the role of risk assessments
- the importance of maintaining a clean environment
- the sterilisation process
- how to safely handle laundry
- how to safely handle sharps
To register for this course you'll need to:
- currently live in England
- be aged 19+
- have been a resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years
- not be on an apprenticeship
On successful completion of this course, you’ll have earned a NCFE CACHE Level 2 certificate which could also help you progress your career, or enter a new sector.
