The Metropolitan Police is looking to recruit 11,000 new officers by 2024, with a specific focus on recruiting new officers from ethnic minority backgrounds (BAME).
If you're thinking about a career in Policing or Criminology, our Access to Higher Education course is a great option for students aged 19+ who are planning to study for a degree, or degree level Apprenticeship, but don’t have the qualifications needed.
On this course you’ll study the following units:
- Introduction to Policing
- Introduction to Criminology
- Foundations of Law
- Ethics and Values
- Equality & Diversity
You’ll also be able to choose from a range of optional units, whilst also improving your academic writing, communication skills, problem solving and building resilience.
There is an open book exam at the end of this course that will help prepare you for recruitment into the police, for university exams or any further study.
To be eligible for this course, you'll need to have Functional Skills or GCSEs in Maths and English at Level 2.
On successful completion of this course you'll have gained an Access to Higher Education Diploma and can progress to a Degree Apprenticeship or to study towards a degree at university.
