This short course aims to develop practical understanding and application of digital skills in a work or personal environment.
There are two units in the Award:
- Digital Content Creation: Text and Image
- Digital Content Creation: Audio and video
Subjects covered include:
- Sourcing and editing text, image, audio and video
- Copyright
- How to use digital design software such as Canva, Flipsnack, Crello, Publisher, Sites, Lucidpress and apps such as Screencast-o-matic, Meet and Teams for demonstrating
- Storyboarding
- Using a JamBoard and other collaborative tools
- Navigation, linking and embedding
- Compressing files
- Storing and retrieving files locally and remotely
There are no exams. Skills, knowledge and understanding are assessed through an assignment which includes designing digital publications and demonstrating how they work, keeping a reflective account of your work and progress, and answering written questions.
On successful completion of the course you could move onto a Level 3 Digital Design apprenticeship, or onto the Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in Digital Technologies.
