Develop your skills to successfully lead a team in a business workplace with this short course.

You'll build your knowledge of the principles of team leading, and enhance your understanding of business.

Crucial for all Team Leaders, you'll refine your communication skills with a range of stake holders at different levels to support your relationship-building and information-sharing in the workplace, and to manage conflict.

This course focuses on developing working relationships with colleagues in an inclusive and diverse environment, managing and resolving conflict in workplace and understanding personal development.

You'll cover the following topics:

  1. Principles of team leading
  2. Understand business
  3. Communicating work-related information & developing working relationship with colleagues
  4. Managing performance and conflict in workplace
  5. Principles of equality and diversity in the workplace
  6. Understanding health and safety procedures in the workplace
  7. Understanding personal development
  8. Introduction to coaching & mentoring

To successfully complete this course, you'll need to complete all components of the course, and submit a portfolio of evidence which will be internally assessed.

There is no external exam on this course.

If you're aged 19+ and are working or looking to progress to work as a team leader in a business environment, this course is for you.

This course does not have any formal entry requirements, but you'll need to have good level of English and Maths, which will be assessed as part of the enrolment process.

On successful completion of this course, you'll have gained the skills and knowledge required to be a competent Team Leader.

To develop your skills and career options further you could also progress to a Level 3 Diploma in Management

Where it can lead to

There are number of routes you can take following successful completion of a course. Further study can include Higher Education courses or a Higher Apprenticeship where you will expand your skills through study whilst earning a wage. Or you may choose to move directly into employment.
