The course is designed for new and aspiring middle managers in the Health & Social Care sector, or in an Early Years Setting.
You'll get to grips with what's required in a management role in these sectors.
Whether you're looking to run your own nursery or care home, or want to gain the business knowledge needed to manage a care franchise, you'll develop the technical skills needed to lead effectively at this level.
On this course you'll develop:
- the skills needed to operate as a successful manager
- the knowledge and qualities valued in employees by employers
- a self-reflective understanding of your strengths as a manager and how to improve your weaknesses
- knowledge and understanding of how to manage resources and budgets, recruitment and selection, and stakeholder engagement
This is a work-based qualification, so you'll be able to apply the leadership and management skills that you develop during this course in the workplace.
You'll need to complete a portfolio of evidence to showcase your skills, knowledge and understanding.
To be eligible this course, you'll need to currently be working in a supervisory or management role in a Health, Social Care or Childcare setting. You'll also need to hold a Level 3 qualification, or equivalent.
On completion of this course you'll be awarded a Level 4 Certificate in Leadership and Management. You'll have developed the skills needed for your current role, and could use this qualification to seek further career progression opportunities.
You could also progress with your studies and complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services, which will help you to develop your knowledge and understanding of management in the care sector even further!
