This course offers the first steps into the Performing Arts industry.
This course aims to give learenrs a taster of a variety of performing arts skills based in danced, acting and music.
Alongside the subject specific units, learners will also develop skills that will prepare for further study and the world of work. This course is made up of 10 units, each internally assessed by the Performing Arts teachers. The units you will study are:
- A1: Being Organised
- A2: Developing a Personal Progression Plan
- A3: Working with Others
- A4: Researching a Topic
- PA5: Using a Stimulus for performance
- PA8: Performing a Dance Routine
- PA9: Performing a Piece of Music
- PA10: Acting in a Performance
- PA11: Personal Preparation for Performance
- PA12: Rehearsing for a Performance
10x Internal Assessments (Practical and Course Work)
Learners must have a mimimum of Entry Level 2 in English and Maths, a Passion for Performing Arts. Some experience in the Performing Arts is preferred.

You can benefit from work experience as part of the Front of House Team at The Broadway Theatre.
On successful completion of the Level 1 qualification it may be possible to progress onto a Level 2 course, providing that English and Maths are at a sufficient standard. Learners can also progress to a Level 1 in another subject specialism whilst they develop English and Maths skills.
