Assessment is via written essays, calculations and practical tests.
For entry to this course you'll need one of:
- A BTEC Level 3 Extended qualification (with Merit/Distinction in Unit 4-Maths and unit 5-Mechanical principles and/or unit 6-Electrical/electronic and a minimum MM on the National overall grade and MMM in the Extended Diploma)
- 3 A Levels at grade C or above, to include Maths and at least one Science subject
- Study units on an HNC or equivalent international programme
If you haven't got English & Maths A Levels, you'll need to demonstrate Level 2 standard in an initial assessment.
Finish this course and you'll be able to choose from a range of Level 5 engineering qualifications at HND and degree-level.
You could alternatively head into employment or do an advanced apprenticeship.
